Volunteer at the Museum
Docent Program
The Docent Program is a volunteer opportunity for students aged 10 and older. Docents develop public presentation skills and historical knowledge while serving as educational assistants in the museum buildings. The program was established in 2008 under the guidance of former Curator Robyn Lode.
Docents become real ambassadors for the museum’s collections — learning the stories behind the exhibits well enough to share them with visitors of all ages.
Ally, Mariah, and Riley have been Junior Docents since the very beginning of the program.

General Volunteers
The Upper Musselshell Historic Society warmly welcomes volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you have a few hours a week or can commit to a full season, your time and talents make a genuine difference to the museum and the community it serves.
We’re always looking for people who can help with exhibit preparation, collections care, event support, research assistance, and day-to-day operations. If you have a particular skill or interest, come talk to us — there’s likely a role that’s a great fit.
